SAUTT relies on a pool of well trained, competent and motivated professionals to undertake the challenges of modern law enforcement. Proficiency in technical law enforcement skill sets is as essential as the development of leaders and managers capable of operating in today’s highly complex crime environment.

To ensure that its officers possess all of the necessary skills, SAUTT has developed a three-tiered training system consisting of the following institutions: The Specialist Crime Academy and the Security Studies Institute both located at the SAUTT compound in Cumuto and the Leadership and Management Institute housed at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre.

All programmes are available to suitably qualified candidates from SAUTT, the Police Service and other agencies in the Ministry of National Security.
