Identity
– The SAUTT LogoIn 2006, SAUTT undertook a re-branding exercise in preparation for the passage of the SAUTT Act. A new organisation logo was developed and eventually launched in December 2007.
The logo’s contemporary elliptical shape depicts a rounded rectangle which is symbolic of the organisation’s flexibility. The colours used in this logo are identical to the colours of the Trinidad and Tobago national flag: red, white and black.
The design incorporates three peaks superimposed on each other,
symbolizing the mountain peaks of the Trinity Hills: the feature that
prompted the island’s discoverer Christopher Columbus, to name the island
after the Holy Trinity. The combination of three peaks into one larger
peak is symbolic of a working relationship as well as a shared
direction, focus and feature.
In relatively short space of time since its establishment, SAUTT has become a highly functional and much respected organisation alongside pre-existing agencies in the national security community. In its first year of operations, acting as an autonomous unit or in support of the Police Service, SAUTT took part in several law enforcement operations that netted a number of illegal firearms and ammunition, narcotics and stolen vehicles. Today SAUTT has acquired a reputation in law enforcement circles for the thoroughness of its investigations and its ability to bring innovative approaches to crime fighting.
